Partner Ryan Baker, speaking to Law360 about the ethical rules applying litigators doing research with AI, said, “It’s easier to ask AI a question and have it churn out an answer, but it doesn’t alter the duties of the lawyer to ultimately verify what is said is accurate and true and applicable to the case” in a story published August 9, 2024.
He added that Waymaker LLP has an internal policy that requires all attorneys using AI tools to check the generated content. Baker is currently lead counsel in a trademark case against OpenAI.
