Co-Founding Partner Jaime Marquart focuses on complex commercial litigation, managing and trying a diverse array of cases involving commercial contracts, real estate, antitrust, intellectual property, government contract accounting, founder disputes, and corporate finance. Marquart regularly brings suit and achieves victories against some of the largest financial and technological companies in the world on behalf of individuals and smaller concerns.
In one recent case, Marquart successfully represented FlexWare International LLC in a bet-the-company lawsuit against AT&T that sought to remedy the confusion and significant damages caused by AT&T’s misappropriation and continued use of the identical FlexWare name. In another important matter, Marquart and Waymaker reached a favorable settlement in a patent infringement action on behalf of ICPillar LC against the world-leading fabless integrated circuit design firm, Arm Ltd. and its U.S. entity Arm, Inc. The case involved ground-breaking technology that drastically reduces the timescales for designing integrated circuits and involves the design process for billions of integrated circuits shipped each year in devices such as computers, smartphones, wearables, and IoT nodes. Settlement was reached after a Markman ruling and significant fact discovery taken by Marquart and the team throughout the U.S. and parts of Europe.
Among his honors, Marquart repeatedly has been selected as a Benchmark Litigation Star.
In college, Marquart graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, with a perfect 4.0 grade point average, first in a graduating class of approximately 10,000.
